I lost 5.6lbs. in my first week of “detox”. It was funny because I knew I had worked hard but before I stepped on the scale….I prepared myself. I told myself that whatever the number was, it would be an accomplishment. I didn’t want to just focus on the number. I had already been feeling better and felt I had more energy. That was my reward already!
I think that the way you have set up the program is very helpful. The fact that the first week is for “preparation” is really great. It gives you confidence, when you first have the food ready. I actually did not have everything I needed on my first day just because of the business of life!!!! But, I made it through with what I had and prayer. The next day….I went shopping. Then I sliced and diced and washed lettuce and spinach. That’s when I realized just how much more confident I felt for the “detox”.
The interesting thing is I have always struggled with IBS symptoms and would eat very bland at work so that I would not have a problem. I was nervous that all the veggies, salad etc. were going to be a problem. But….it turned out…I have had LESS problems!
The most amazing thing is ….I DON’T have cravings!!! I was surrounded by sweets at my classroom for the children’s Easter party. I really did not feel like I was missing out. I had a banana and a handful of nuts. I was good to go! Joanne M.
Last week I practiced not eating after 7:00. The first few days I found myself hovering around the kitchen, looking in cupboards for food. I don’t really think I was hungry but it was a habit. Now I don’t desire to eat after dinner. Last night I craved something sweet. I already had my two fruits but I gave in and had a 1/4 C of oats, walnuts and raisons at about 7:30. So I think tonight I will have my second fruit at dinner time. I would have been really disappointed at myself but I remember what you said about not trying to do it perfectly. Maria
I have to share Ann, that the best part of this whole process is having you at my fingertips. I certainly hope you don’t mind me touching base with you daily because I grasp it all much better talking with you instead of only reading it and I feel good keeping the lines open. I am so glad I have you to lean on and get me back in the right direction.
I get excited about sharing my accomplishments and even my challenges with you as I know you will be encouraging and honest. I feel your fees are very reasonable and I have no problem with any of the options. N.H.
Group Plan for Ministries/Churches:
When I first read about Ann’s Today’s the Day group plan for ministries, I knew it was something I needed to offer our partners. I wanted so sow into their lives, not only spiritually but physically as well. It does no good to have a strong spirit if you don’t have a strong and healthy body to carry it in. Our body is a temple of the Lord and should be treated as such.
Each day as I read Ann’s emails I gained more confidence in her program. Ann is not promoting a diet; she is promoting a life change. My daughter and I participated in this program and learned a great deal – we have implemented Ann’s program and it has brought us to a healthier, happier style of living. You simply see things differently after taking Ann’s course.
For me as a minister, it was important that it was scripturally based; it just doesn’t get any better than this program. I would recommend it to all ministries.
